Intercultural voice-training for young people

IÂ have developed an innovative program for students and trainees, which links cross-cultural training with vocal training. Vocal training and intercultural training have much in common, because both deal with the question of perception. How do I perceive myself and the environment and how does the enviornment reflect on me?
The experience of alienation is not only a phenomenon which can be felt when different cultures interact, it can also be noticed within ourselves. Whenever I begin my seminars with the question of how the participants would describe the sound of her voice, very often I notice a big question mark on their faces. This training aims to show participants different possibilites on how to deal with voice, communication and culture in a creative and practical manner. It strengthens self-confidence of young people and helps them to feel more safe while performing in front of other people. The workshop is designed for cross-cultural work at home as well as a preparation for studying abroad in the context of programs like Leonardo, Comenius or Erasmus as well as for volunteer service abroad.
